Synod 2012

Greetings to my beloved Sisters and Brothers of the Ecumenical Catholic

Communion!

Dear Co-workers and Fellow Ministers of the Gospel of Christ,

It is with great joy that I invite fellow Bishops, delegates of the House ofLaity, the House of Pastors, other ECC members, communion partners, as well as our many friends and visitors, to the 2012 Holy Synod of the Ecumenical Catholic Communion on October 23-25 in Orange, California! You will be receiving forms for registration by email and they will also be available on our ECC website: www.ecumenical-catholic-communion.org.

The theme for the Synod is "Serving Godís people: From the Church at Home to the Ends of the Earth.Ē (See Acts 1:8). This Synod will reflect the growing interest in the ECC around the world and the challenges facing young communities anywhere in the world.  The Synod will, of course, have a particular focus on the insights and experience of our Hispanic communities.

Please consider this letter as a call to any legislative ideas. I have once again asked George von Stamwitz to lead the effort to develop a legislative package for the Synod. Please have any ideas submitted to George by June 30, 2012 at   George has committed to have a legislative report to all the delegates by July 31st for consideration and feedback prior to the Synod.  It is very unlikely the Houses will consider legislation at the Synod that is not subject to this process of discernment and preparation.

The Leadership Council will be in touch with you shortly regarding workshops for the Synod.  Please share your ideas and gifts with the Council, but understand we will not be able to accommodate every good idea.

I so look forward to seeing you, sharing our faith together and cooperating with the Holy Spirit in the building of our beloved communion!

In the Peace and Love of Christ,

+Peter Elder Hickman

Presiding Bishop
