We have set a new date for the ordination of our transitional deacon, John Tanner. The location remains the same, but the new date is October 21st, a Saturday, at 2:00 pm. Mark your calendars and plan to attend! John’s first mass will be the following day, Sunday, October 22nd at 10:30 am.
The ordination of Transitional Deacon John Tanner had to be postponed due to an accident. His wife fell and broke her hip. Jai had surgery and is doing well, but she wants to be present when John is ordained. She needs time to heal. We expect the celebration of ordination to be in September and
This third Sunday of Easter, April 23rd, 2023, we at Emmaus participated in the ordination of John Tanner. Since Bishop Kedda is pastor at Emmaus ECC the ordination was folded in to our Sunday mass. John is a transitional deacon and we look forward to his ordination as an ECC presbyter on July 22nd. Enjoy

A bit about Kedda: I was born in Tacoma WA and have lived in Western WA all my life. Raised a Catholic in the Roman tradition. I earned my Master of Divinity degree in 1991. I also earned a Certificate of Pastoral Leadership in 2006. I was married for 40 years; my husband died in 2010.
Our liturgy is prayeful, meaningful and Catholic. Liturgy by its very nature is the work of the people. Catholic liturgy has many traditional elements: The gathering rite, liturgy of the Word, transitional prayers, liturgy of Eucharist, communion rite, and a final blessing and sending forth.
